In addition to these safety behaviors, the CDC has released guidance for reopening businesses. Disinfection should be done with a product from the EPA's List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2. It is also important to consider the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that should be worn by anyone who is using these chemicals. This guide is a helpful resource but is lengthy and can feel very complex.
Per the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), employers should monitor public health recommendations regarding COVID-19 and they should communicate these recommendations to employees. Employers who oversee staff that is cleaning and disinfecting need to consider the increased risks to employees due to exposure to COVID-19 and to toxic cleaning chemicals.
